Monday, November 17, 2008 - C Day
tuesday, November 18, 2008 - a Day
Homework Due: None.
- Check in on the javascript. Nothing more here than to be aware of server side functionality.
- Check web site validity. We've come back to checking whether our sites are standards compliant. See Unit 5, Module 4, Lesson 1. Follow the directions with the sample page information and then apply your own web site to the validation test.
- After running a clean validation, print out the validation and the code, then move on to Lesson 2, Validating CSS. Follow the steps for this lesson, but restrict your CSS validation efforts to the last external CSS page you have created for your portfolio web pages.

Homework Due: Come in with a selected topic for individual web sites. Details will come TODAY!
- Move toward validating your portfolio page in terms of accessibility,
Lesson 3 of Module 4. Follow the steps after Mr. Everett shows a few
things. DocType
references.
- Complete the validation and show Mr. Everett. Then write a brief report discussing the tools you used, the information you discovered, and how it would help you if you were in a position to create content for a client. It should not exceed one page.
- Storyboard your own 12 page site. You may decide the content and the appearance so long as it is appropriate for a school audience.
You must include:
- Storyboard and site map with filenames
- Good site organization (folders & files named appropriately) There should be at least 3 levels.
- Use of 1 external CSS to control all design elements of your site. Your site must have design elements of at lease a banner, different colored links, text, and headings. Images must be used throughout the site to enhance the content.
- The content must be cohesive and sufficient enough to "fill" 12 web pages.
- Other: Ensure your site is W3C compliant and has been validated for XHTML, CSS, and Accessibility. Print these pages out after confirmation has been obtained!
- Know it is due at the end of the day (2:30) on Thursday, December 4th. You WILL need to work on it outside of class in order to meet the deadline! It is a good idea to put all your content together in a document and storyboard it so you know what you will be doing and where that information is supposed to go!
